Layer Cakes by Moda
A layer cake is given to the grouping of 40 to 45 10" X 10" squares of fabric all color co-ordinated in a specific fabric line. The amount of pieces of squares tells you how many different fabrics are in that specific line.
Moda has created a wonderful sixth in the series "Collection for a Cause" called "Hope." The fabric is from Howard Marcus and is reproduction pieces from the years 1830-1840. The fabrics are reproduced from the Lemoyne Star quilt from upstate New York.
This reproduction quilt, "Comfort" to aid Japan Earthquake & Pacific Tsunami Relief as they rebuild their lives and country. It comes from a 1860-61 New England quilt, and features beautiful and simple use of alternating 9 patch blocks Size 77" X 84"
